CARIBBEANTALES ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF VIDEO ON DEMAND CHANNEL

Companies announced this week the official launch of its new video-ondemand brand CaribbeanTales-TV, an online project specialising in Caribbean film and television content. CT-TV is part-funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and aims to target youth and educational institutions in the GTA, as well as regional and global audiences for Caribbean film. The online platform has developed from a year-long collaboration between Solomon and German filmmaker and entrepreneur Cay Wesnigk, CEO of Onlinefilm.org.

CARIBBEANTALES ANNOUNCES RED CARPET GALA AND SCREENING + FESTIVAL SCHEDULE  AT HARBOURFRONT CENTRE
September 4 – 14, 2013

The World Premiere screening of No Bois Man No Fraid, a feature documentary directed by Trinidad and Tobago filmmaker, Christopher Laird, will kick off the Red Carpet Gala at the 8th annual CaribbeanTales Toronto Film Showcase. The event opens the festival’s main film showcase, which is co-produced with the Harbourfront Centre and that will take place September 4 – 14. The gala begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4 where guests will enjoy a Caribbean reception, entertainment and the screening at 9 p.m. Co-hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Toronto and Harbourfront Centre, the gala will be held along Toronto’s waterfront at the Harbourfront Centre Lakeside Terrace.

CARIBBEAN TALES ANNOUNCES SPECIAL PARTNERSHIP WITH “ISLANDS OF THE CARIBBEAN” AND SCHEDULE FOR GEMS OF THE CARIBBEAN

The CaribbeanTales Toronto Film Showcase, in a unique partnership with the Islands of the Caribbean (IOTC), will be bringing the best of the islands to Toronto during the Gems of the Caribbean screening series* on August 17, 18, and 30 at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE).

“We are delighted to be partnering with the tourism boards as there is a natural fit - they are promoting the Caribbean while we are marketing the brand by telling authentic stories of who we are,” adds Frances Anne Solomon, founder and CEO of CaribbeanTales.
