The Canada Wolverines will have a new look when they face Jamaica on Saturday July 21st. No less than 6 players will be making their International debuts when the Wolverines take on the Reggae Warriors at Lamport Stadium in Toronto.
Amongst them are 4 players from Ottawa and for the first time ever a player from CRL's British Columbia competition is selected as Jared Curry of the Kelowna Crows will be making the 4000km trek to represent his nation on the big occasion. There are also some old favourites back in 2012 including Captain Jamie Lester, 2011 MVP Robin Legault, 2011 RLIF Canadian player of the year Matt Wyles, and defensive juggernaut Cam Grace. Coach Richard Moore had this to say when asked about the side assembled to face Jamaica. "I'm very excited about the team we have picked, it's a good mix of experience and fresh blood. There is good balance in all areas of the field, and the truth is it is getting harder and harder to pick the team as the overall standard is improving in Canada and some very strong players missed out on selection."
John and Tony Felix become the first brother combo to represent Canada in Rugby League as Prop John makes his full international debut against the Jamaicans. "This is by far the strongest side we have ever put together," CRL Chairman Eric Perez noted. "This is a side capable of taking on the world." The Wolverines begin their 2012 Test Series against Jamaica on Saturday July 21st, and will be looking to start things off with a win. The Jamaicans will have other ideas. Only time will tell, whom will triumph.
